"If walls could talk."

About CONTAINER No. 1

During the Dutch Design Week 2018, the collective Aka Motorrow presented CONTAINER No. 1. Designed as a living room, it invites the visitor to take some time, now, and later maybe, to listen and consider the objects that are surrounding him. What make them what they are ? What are they able to share with us ? What are they ?

This installation questions the identity of art and design objects, from their creation which is often driven by the maker, to their current state, spectator of our lives.

"The living room may serve both as the space where time is enjoyed and shared with people who are not from the household, and as a space where the symbolic presence of such people is also manifest through the objects in it."

Talya B. Rechavi, A room for living: Private and public aspects in the experience of the living room
